Job description

Reno Staffing is looking for a Wet Lab Technician for a mineral testing facility in the Sparks Area!


Shift: Monday-Friday 7:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m.
Pay: $17.00/hr.
Location: Sparks, NV (in town)

Resume and on site interview will be required for this position.
Column Lab / Wet Lab Technician

The Column Lab / Wet Lab Technician is responsible for preparing samples and conducting tests for various analyses; will operate laboratory equipment such as grinding ball mills, gravity and flotation machines, balances, pH meters, hand titrations using various chemicals, and will maintain daily records and logs as well as perform other duties as assigned.


Basic Job Duties include but are not limited to the following:
  • Following all health and safety rules and regulations
  • Maintaining a clean work area
  • Filtering of samples
  • Grinding samples using ball mills
  • Using flotation and concentrating equipment
  • Column maintenance
  • Titrations
  • Transferring hazardous waste to staging areas
  • Conducting inspections of hazardous waste storage areas

Qualifications & Skills Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Must be able read, write and communicate effectively in English
  • Employee must be able to follow specific directions, work in a safe manner, perform simple mathematical calculations, and keep records without constant supervision
  • Ability to work with others in a team environment
  • Perform routine maintenance on equipment that is within your scope and abilities
  • A positive attitude towards safety regulations and production and quality goals
  • Able to comply with all company policies

Physical Demands include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Employee is required to crawl, kneel, bend, and reach with hands and arms above their shoulders
  • Must be able to lift and carry repetitively up to 75-lbs
  • Must be able to load / unload ball mills, column test charges etc… up to 75-lbs repetitively
  • Ability to safely perform work using chemicals such as NaCN, H2SO4, and Lime
  • Physically capable of standing, grasping and performing other types of physical work for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to pass a respirator medical evaluation and wear a respirator
  • Be clean shaven where respirator contacts the face

  • Light Duties in the Column Lab or Wet Lab are specifically limited to performing titrations, taking pH and/or redox measurements for existing tests, washing rinsing glassware and or pans, cleaning floors and laboratory bench surfaces. Taking inventory of chemicals and supplies.

Resume and in person tour/interview required for consideration. Not a warehouse position, candidates offered the position will be required to complete a 10-panel drug test (includes testing for THC) Must commit to the schedule, many options are available.
