Days: Monday - Friday
Hours: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM (Hours will vary; some overtime, weekends, holidays may be required.)
Full-time: Benefit Eligible
In this role, you will:
  • Performs all technical aspects of grossing and dictating tissue specimens using a variety of laboratory materials and equipment under direct supervision of Pathologist or Pathologist Assistant.
  • Ensures specimen integrity upon arrival and throughout the entire process.
  • Dictates a gross description for each specimen including, but not limited to anatomical site, size, color, weight, dimensions, count, volume, cut techniques, abnormal findings, dissects and prepares tissue for cassettes.
  • Work in a fast-paced laboratory environment with biological and chemical hazards
  • Champion safety, compliance, and quality control

All you need is:
  • An earned associate degree in a laboratory science or medical laboratory technology, obtained from an accredited institution, OR At least 60 semester hours or equivalent from an accredited institution.
  • This education must include 24 semester hours of medical laboratory technology courses, OR 24 semester hours of science courses that includes 6 semester hours of chemistry, 6 semester hours of biology, and 12 semester hours of chemistry, biology or medical laboratory technology in any combination.
  • 2 year of laboratory training or experience performing high complexity testing
  • Strong reading, writing, and analytical skills
  • Ability to operate general laboratory equipment, including but not limited to: telephones, computers, automated analyzers, centrifuges, microscopes, manual and automated pipettes, and audible alarms.
