Location: White Plains, NY
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM

Lighthouse Lab Services is partnering with a leading hospital system in the White Plains, NY area to recruit a Histotechnologist for a full-time evening shift opportunity. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established hospital laboratory committed to delivering high-quality diagnostic services and exceptional patient care.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is passionate about producing high-quality histology specimens that support accurate diagnoses.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine histology procedures including tissue processing, embedding, microtomy, and staining.
  • Prepare high-quality tissue sections for microscopic examination.
  • Perform routine and special stains according to laboratory procedures.
  • Maintain and operate histology instrumentation while performing routine maintenance and troubleshooting as needed.
  • Ensure proper specimen identification, handling, and documentation throughout the testing process.
  • Participate in quality assurance and quality control activities to maintain compliance with laboratory standards.
  • Maintain accurate records within the laboratory information system (LIS).
  • Adhere to all CAP, CLIA, New York State, and institutional regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with inventory management and laboratory organization.
  • Collaborate with pathologists and laboratory staff to ensure timely and accurate patient results.

Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Histotechnology or a related life science field.
  • ASCP Histotechnologist (HTL) or Histotechnician (HT) certification preferred.
  • Current New York State Histotechnologist License required (or eligibility to obtain licensure if applicable).
  • Previous experience in a hospital or high-volume histology laboratory preferred.
  • Strong skills in embedding, microtomy, tissue processing, and staining.
  • Experience with special stains and immunohistochemistry is a plus.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative laboratory team.
