Summary of Job Duties:A Lab Support Technician I (sometimes called a laboratory assistant or specimen processor) plays an entry-level role in keeping a medical or diagnostic lab running smoothly. The focus is less on testing itself and more on handling samples and supporting lab operations.

  • Verifies that all specimens are properly ordered, labeled and collected before delivering to the performing department for testing.
  • This position works under the supervision of the section Supervisor and Senior Tech.
  • This position provides comprehensive support for patient care activities in the Core Lab.
  • This positions schedule could change due to staffing issues with a two week notice.
  • Perform other duties as needed
