ERG is seeking a motivated, entry-level Junior Engineering Construction Technician to support field-level construction oversight and technical activities for projects at the Naval Support Facility (NSF) Indian Head. This role is ideal for candidates looking to start a career in construction management, engineering support, or field inspection. They will work closely with an experienced Construction Manager and project team to learn how to monitor construction progress, verify quality, ensure safety compliance, and support project documentation. This position offers hands-on exposure to active construction sites and federal project environments, with opportunities for mentorship and skill development. This is a full-time, on-site position at NSF Indian Head, Maryland, located approximately 30 miles from Washington, D.C. 

Job Description:
  • Assist with pre-award site visits and contractor coordination, including documenting site conditions and taking photographs for the bidding process  
  • Support the review of project documents and specifications to gain familiarity with construction plans and requirements  
  • Observe and assist with daily field activities, including monitoring contractor progress, quality, and safety practices  
  • Help verify that construction work aligns with approved plans and report any discrepancies to senior staff  
  • Maintain organized project records, including daily logs, progress updates, photographs, and safety documentation  
  • Track project schedules and assist in monitoring progress against planned timelines  
  • Support project close-out activities, including punch list tracking, documentation collection, and coordination efforts 
Qualifications and Skills:
  • 0–2 years of experience in construction, engineering, or a related field (internships, coursework, or hands-on training are acceptable)  
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline preferred (or equivalent technical training)  
  • Strong willingness to learn, take direction, and grow in a field environment  
  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail  
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work as part of a team  
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); familiarity with construction or project management software is a plus 
  • Must currently hold or be able to obtain a Department of Defense Secret-level security clearance    
  • Must be a U.S. citizen as this position is not eligible for Limited Access Authorizations
