Job description

The Runner plays a key support role at Intelligent Technical Solutions, handling local travel for errands, client visits, and equipment pickups while also assisting with light technical tasks such as workstation setup and basic hardware replacement. This position blends courier-style responsibilities with entry-level IT support, making it ideal for someone who is organized, trustworthy, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, varied environment. The Runner works closely with the Service team to ensure smooth day-to-day operations both in the office and at client locations.

Job Responsibilities

Procedural

  • Local travel as needed for shipping/receiving, collecting mail, office supplies, vehicle maintenance.
  • Local travel to and from client locations as requested by Service to pick up, drop off, or connect equipment.ย 
  • Local travel to on-site suppliers to pick up any parts or equipment needed by Service on an emergency basis.
  • Other office duties as necessary.
  • Answer phones.
  • Maintain trust and security in use of a corporate credit card for company purchases, and properly record, document and submit for approval all expenses charged to such card.

Technical

A Runner is expected to be able to complete the following technical tasks with little or no assistance:

  • Connect client equipment, including workstations, network devices and other equipment as needed.
  • Set up workstations and basic network devices on a client network and contact ITS technicians to confirm equipment is accessible from the office as needed.
  • Replace basic field serviceable equipment within a workstation or device, such as a graphics card or hard drive.
Job Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent (some technical training preferred).
  • 1+ year experience in support, courier, or entry-level IT role.
  • Basic skills in computer setup, hardware replacement, and network connectivity.
  • Ability to lift and transport equipment (up to 50 lbs).
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and trustworthy in handling purchases and equipment.
  • Strong communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills.
  • Flexible and willing to handle varied tasks, both errands and technical.
  • Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle for client visits.
  • Work location: This is a fully in-office position.
  • Employment Type: Part-time (20 hours/week)ย 
Compensation

Pay rates start at $15.15/hour up to $16.37/hour and vary by experience and location.
