Job Summary

Grady Health System is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Interventional Radiology (IR) department to deliver high-quality, patient-centered nursing care in a collaborative clinical environment. This role is ideal for nurses who are passionate about providing compassionate care, supporting complex procedures, and working closely with interdisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes.

The Registered Nurse practices within the professional scope defined by nursing standards and organizational policies while providing age-appropriate, culturally sensitive care to patients and their families. In collaboration with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams, the nurse coordinates and delivers care across the continuum while maintaining a safe and supportive care environment.

In this role, the Registered Nurse utilizes the nursing processโ€”including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluationโ€”to provide individualized care plans that support optimal patient outcomes. The nurse also plays a key role in patient education, care coordination, and clinical communication while supporting evidence-based practice and quality improvement initiatives within the department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect and analyze comprehensive patient and family health data to support clinical care planning
  • Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care
  • Develop and coordinate individualized plans of care in collaboration with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
  • Monitor patient progress and evaluate outcomes to ensure effective care delivery
  • Provide patient and family education regarding treatment plans, procedures, and health management
  • Advocate for patients and families while ensuring care is delivered in a safe and compassionate environment
  • Support clinical leadership, collaboration, and team-based care within the department
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and evidence-based practice activities
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with organizational and regulatory standards
Required Qualifications
  • Associate Degree in Nursing required
  • One (1) or more years of Registered Nurse experience required
  • Current Georgia license as a Registered Professional Nurse required
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required

Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification is required for the following areas. New graduates must obtain certification within 90 days of employment:

  • All Critical Care units
  • Emergency Care Center (ECC)
  • GI / Cath Laboratory
  • Labor & Delivery
  • All Intermediate Care units
  • Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)
