Job description

Job Title: Heavy Equipment Diesel Mechanic
Location: Williston North Dakota
Pay Range: $30.00-$50.00/ hour DOE
Interstate Power Systems is hiring Diesel Technicians of all experience levels for our Williston, ND location.
We are seeking experienced technicians with the ability to diagnose and repair heavy-duty diesel construction equipment and heavy-duty trucks. Candidates with Construction Equipment, MTU and Volvo engine experience are highly preferred.
What You'll Work On
  • Heavy-duty diesel construction equipment and heavy-duty trucks
  • Engines and systems across Freightliner, Western Star, Detroit, Deutz, Allison, Cummins, CAT, MTU, Volvo, Liebherr and more
  • Diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and repair complex diesel engine and equipment issues
  • Perform maintenance on trucks and construction equipment
  • Communicate clearly with foreman and service team
  • Maintain accurate service documentation
  • Ensure quality control and customer satisfaction

What We're Looking For
  • Experience with diesel construction equipment and/or heavy-duty trucks required
  • MTU and Volvo engine experience strongly preferred
  • Strong diagnostic skills across diesel platforms (Cummins, CAT, Detroit, etc.)
  • Valid driver's license (CDL = additional compensation)
  • Reliable, team-oriented, and safety-focused

Bonus Skills (Not Required):
  • Hydraulics
  • Brakes & suspension
  • Drivetrain and transmissions

Preferred Qualifications
  • Technical degree or diesel certification (a plus)
  • Strong communication skills
  • Commitment to ongoing training and certifications
