Job description


We are seeking for a motivated Entry-Level Hardware Test Engineer to join our dynamic, multi-disciplinary team supporting the US Navy's Aircraft Launch and Recovery system. This position offers the opportunity to contribute directly to mission-critical projects, working in a rapid development environment alongside engineers and production staff from both BAE and government technical teams. The role involves hands-on testing of electrical hardware from component to system level, with travel required for system installation, operation verification, testing, and certification.
Key Responsibilities:
Gather product requirements and develop comprehensive test plans and procedures for electrical, mechanical, and software systems
Execute testing activities, troubleshoot issues, perform root cause analysis, and communicate test results clearly and effectively
Design and build automated testing systems to enhance efficiency and reliability
Create and maintain thorough technical documentation in compliance with Quality Management Systems
Collaborate closely with engineers, production staff, and technical teams from both BAE and government partners Travel to project sites for system installation, verification, testing, and certification as needed
This position is located in scenic and historic Southern Maryland in the St. Mary's County Technology Corridor adjacent to the Patuxent River Naval Air Station.
There is no monetary relocation assistance budgeted for this position. Applicants must be currently residing in or state willingness to relocate self to St. Mary's County, Maryland or surrounding areas.
Required Skills and Education
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field
0-2 years of experience in testing electrical hardware at both component and system levels
Strong understanding of electrical engineering fundamentals and testing techniques
Demonstrated troubleshooting and analytical thinking skills
Experience with root cause analysis and building automated testing systems
Familiarity with Quality Management Systems and technical documentation standards
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary team environment
