Intel's Foundry Automation (IFA) team is hiring a Software Application Development Engineer. As part of our team, you will partner with end users in Fab Manufacturing and Engineering to deliver innovative solutions specially crafted for the ever-changing needs of our highly automated factories. To integrate these solutions, you will work closely with our Software Development teams and execute testing, implementation, troubleshooting and documentation of business processes.

You will work at the intersection of software engineering and advanced manufacturing, collaborating with cross-functional teams to analyze business processes, gather requirements, implement software releases, and drive continuous improvement. This is a unique opportunity to make a direct and meaningful impact on Intel's 24/7 manufacturing capabilities while growing your technical expertise in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaboratewith internal customers and partners to identify emerging data and business needs, and translate those needs into effective software solutions
  • Analyzeexisting manufacturing processes and procedures to identify opportunities for optimization and improvement
  • Gather and documentbusiness and technical requirements from stakeholders across Fab Manufacturing and Engineering
  • Executethe implementation and testing of application and database software releases, ensuring quality and reliability
  • Managestakeholder relationships and communicate project status, risks, and recommendations clearly and effectively
  • Prioritizeconfiguration changes in manufacturing execution systems (MES) and manage projects that support development and continuous improvement
  • ProvideTier 3 (advanced) end-user technical support by participating in a 24/7 on-call rotation, serving as the escalation point for complex manufacturing system issues
  • Co-developsoftware tools and streamlined business processes that drive operational efficiency and support continuous improvement initiatives
  • Adaptand reprioritize work based on the changing needs of the factory environment

Qualifications:

This is an entry level position and will be compensated accordingly. You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience would be obtained through a combination of prior education level classes, and current level school classes, projects, research and relevant previous job and/or internship experience.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, or a related STEM field with3+ years of relevant industry experience; OR a master's or Ph.D. degree in a related field

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Oracle Certification (OCA, OCP, or OCM)

  • 2+ years of experience in:

  • RDBMS systems including Oracle, MS-SQL, or PostgreSQL

  • PL/SQL development

  • C# programming language

  • Agile methodologies and DevOps practices

  • Software/Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC)

  • Business process analysis and documentation
