Position Overview
Aecon Construction Solutions Inc. (ACSI) is a multi-disciplined construction company offering superior civil, electrical and mechanical services including piping, insulation, scaffolding, and module fabrication. We're always on the search for exceptional craft candidates to fill our ever-expanding project portfolios. ACSI is seeking Millwright Apprentice & Journeypersons who will be integral to our project's success, responsible for completing maintenance assignments to build, repair and maintain equipment. Your expertise will support a range of activities which are critical to the safe operation of equipment on the project.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate rig equipment and dollies to move heavy machinery and parts.
- Fit bearings, align gears and shafts, attach motors, and connect couplings and belts (often to within a fraction of a millimeter tolerance).
- Align and test equipment and adjust.
- Perform preventive and operational maintenance using procedures such as vibration analysis, and repair or replace defective parts.
- Trouble-shoot hydraulic, pneumatic and programmable logic controls.
- Tack welding and fabrication as well as maintain an inventory of replacement parts.
- Perform field work to a high quality and provide thorough follow up with proper and efficient documentation of work.
- Perform proactive maintenance, trouble shooting and repairs for a wide range of Instrumentation and control equipment, such as Hydraulic operated valves, various pressure and flow measurements, radiation density Gauges, Radar level transmitters, CCTV monitoring systems, Computerized control systems.
- Journeyperson will mentor apprentices respectfully and oversee their safety.
Requirements and Experience
- Valid Provincial Journeyperson Ticket or indentured in a Provincial apprenticeship program.
- CSTS-20 Certificate
- Fall Protection - In Class
- Mobile Elevated Work Platform - In Class
- Confined Space - In Class
- Experience as a Millwright in an industrial construction environment.
- Proven ability to work independently and as a part of a team in a fast-paced setting.
- Ability to lift and work with materials weighing up to 25kg.
- Ability to work in all weather conditions and environments.
- Must have a strong understanding of industrial safety procedures and policies.
- Must be fluent in English, both written and verbal.
