Description

American Traveler is seeking a Chemo-Certified RN for an Oncology Infusion position at an acute care facility in Indiana, requiring at least 3 years of experience and ACLS/BLS certifications.

Details
  • Oncology Infusion (Chemotherapy) unit within an acute care hospital setting
  • Patients receiving IV chemotherapy, other IV infusions, and oral pre-treatment medications
  • Day shift schedule: Monday–Thursday 7:30 AM–5:00 PM, Friday 7:00 AM–12:00 PM (often finished earlier)
  • Some scheduling flexibility may be required based on patient treatment schedules
  • 13-week contract
  • Charting system: Cerner; Intellidose (TxM) also used — prior experience with either is a strong plus
Requirements
  • Active IN RN license or valid Compact RN license required
  • Minimum 3 years of RN experience required
  • Chemotherapy infusion experience required; chemo certification (ONS/BMTCN or equivalent) strongly preferred
  • Current certifications: ACLS (AHA) and BLS (AHA)
  • Experience with IV access including peripheral and port access required
Additional Information
  • Responsibilities include patient assessment prior to IV treatments, accessing ports and peripheral IVs for lab draws and therapies, administering chemotherapy and IV infusions, and monitoring patients throughout treatment
  • Administer prescribed oral pre-treatment medications as part of the infusion workflow
  • Monitor and respond to side effects or adverse reactions per established protocols
  • Approved scrub colors: Ceil Blue, Royal Blue, Burgundy/Wine, and Pewter Gray
