Engineer Technician I - Entry-Level Opportunity in Electric Distribution Systems
Location: Cincinnati, OH 45209 | On-site with 20% Field Work | Temporary Assignment with FTE Potential | Telework Allowed
About the Role
Kickstart your engineering career with Leidos as an Engineer Technician I, supporting technical projects that shape electric distribution systems. This entry-level role is ideal for recent graduates eager to apply engineering technology knowledge, contribute to impactful infrastructure projects, and develop hands-on skills in a collaborative, growth-focused environment.
Responsibilities
- Support engineers with technical project tasks, including pre-planning, engineering, and design of electric distribution infrastructure
- Collect, organize, and manage technical data to assist project execution
- Prepare and update engineering documentation, reports, sketches, and diagrams
- Build, assemble, modify, or repair prototypes as assigned
- Perform basic engineering calculations and field engineering activities
- Assist with work package development for overhead and underground distribution systems
- Conduct field visits (20% of time) to support project requirements and data collection
- Identify and resolve routine technical issues, recommending alternative solutions when needed
- Communicate findings and status effectively with supervisors and peers
Required Skills and Experience
- Basic understanding of engineering principles and technical documentation
- Proficient in data collection, organization, and reporting
