The Clinical Laboratory Science Student is under the general direction of the Section Supervisor/Manager and Leadership staff, and performs a variety of laboratory tests, under direct supervision, to obtain data for use in the diagnosis and treatment of disease.

1. Performs general operational duties including workflow.
2. Participates in continuing education workshops and seminars.
3. Assists with the stock levels, ensures stock rotation, and monitors expiration date of stock on hand and data collection.
4. Performs laboratory procedures and calculates, transcribes and records test results.
5. Prepares specimens for analysis and provides results to Pathology.
6. Correlates results with diagnosis in order to determine validity or results.
7. Performs Quality Assurance and Quality Control in assigned laboratory areas.
8. Communicates unusual findings to on site supervisor and/or Pathology and caregivers.
9. Manages specimens.
10. Performs maintenance procedures on laboratory instruments and/or equipment.
