Job description

Skilled Trades Services is currently looking for a HVAC Service Technician for Chicago, IL.
Entry Level HVAC Service Technician Title: Residential HVAC Service Technician
Department: Service
Reports to: Owner/Service Manager
Salary: Pay is between $25-32 depending on experience.
Job Summary: Provide maintenance and repair service on residential heating and air conditioning systems according to company standards. Diagnose, assess, and repair issues with furnaces and/or boilers. Heat pumps are a plus but not required.
Minimum requirements: Minimum 1-3 years of residential maintenance and repair.
Qualifications:
• Have general knowledge of HVAC residential equipment
• Valid clean driver’s license, clear background and drug test
• Universal EPA certification within 3 months of employment
• Ability to operate power and hand tools
• Willingness to invest in tools used in the service of HVAC equipment
• Have basic HVAC tools a plus
• Willingness to work non-traditional hours including nights, weekends, holidays, and On-call
• Willingness to invest time in training and development
• Ability to record work order details including action taken or needed
• Demonstrate Mechanical aptitude
• Ability to explain, recommend, and answer customer’s questions with confidence
• Prioritize and manage daily workload to ensure successful completion
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Energetic personality
• Ability to work independently
