Job Summary

While this position focuses primarily on diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing HVAC systems, you will also support quality equipment replacements and light installations as needed. As an HVAC Technician at Air Hawk Heating and Cooling, you will ensure residential and commercial equipment operates safely and efficiently while delivering extraordinary customer service—helping clients make informed, confident decisions about their indoor comfort.

Key ResponsibilitiesService & Maintenance (Primary Focus):
  • Inspect, diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair residential and light commercial HVAC systems.

  • Perform routine preventive maintenance and system tune-ups to extend equipment life.

  • Communicate technical issues and recommend honest, beneficial solutions to customers.

  • Complete all work using protective measures (drop cloths, shoe covers) to keep customer homes clean and undamaged.

Installation & Replacement (Secondary Focus):
  • Perform system retrofits, component replacements, and assist with full unit installations when necessary.

  • Ensure all installations and system modifications meet manufacturer specifications and local building codes.

  • Execute low-voltage wiring, duct adjustments, and line set connections during system change-outs.

Qualifications & RequirementsMinimum Qualifications:
  • Certifications: EPA Universal 608 Certification required.

  • Experience: Proven experience in HVAC service/troubleshooting (with familiarity in installation practices).

  • Driver’s License: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Work Authorization: Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications (Not Required):
  • NATE certification or additional specialized air conditioning/heating certifications.

  • Experience with duct layout, sheet metal work, or system start-ups/commissions.

Core Skills:
  • Proficient in diagnosing electrical, mechanical, and airflow issues across various brands.

  • Ability to execute simple low-voltage connections on furnaces, heat pumps, air handlers, and air conditioners.

  • Excellent communication skills to clearly explain repairs and install options to customers and management.

  • Strong time-management, organization, and problem-solving skills.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 100 lbs. repeatedly throughout the workday.

  • Ability to climb ladders and step stools repeatedly.

  • Comfort working in tight or dark spaces (attics, crawl spaces) and varying temperatures.

  • Ability to travel up to 75% locally between job sites and customer locations.
