Responsibilities
  • This position is primarily working with installing applications in the commercial and industrial sectors for SMSI, particularly supermarket refrigeration installation.
  • Working with (copper) refrigeration line sets to construct, build, install, and repair equipment for commercial and industrial use
  • Identifying equipment maintenance risks and hazards
  • Maintain collaborative working relationships with customers and coworkers
  • Perform installation of flex and sheet metal duct systems in light commercial
  • Perform installation of HVAC-related equipment while following company policies and manufacturer's specifications
  • Understanding of the principles of air conditioning, refrigeration, and heating
  • Ability to use hand and power tools associated with the HVAC field
  • Ensuring all tools, materials and equipment are in good working condition and up to date
  • Address customer concerns before, during, and after service visits
  • Following occupational health and safety regulations
  • Observation of all company and customer procedures and safety rules
  • This position is safety sensitive.

Requirements
  • Knowledge of mechanical systems, components, tools, and materials related to the HVAC/R industry
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, schematics, and diagrams
  • Must be able to travel out of area for work
  • Be able to push, pull, carry or maneuver heavier items (with additional manpower or appropriate devices); carry ladders, work from heights, or work in small crawl spaces
  • Demonstrate mechanical competence and skills
  • Understanding principles of air conditioning, refrigeration and heating
  • Excellent verbal and communication skills in order to manage HVAC protocols
  • Ability to adapt to changes as they occur and work in fast-paced, goal-oriented environment
  • Ability to work independently in a timely manner, making sure job is done correctly the first time
  • Class E driver's license and OSHA certification highly preferred and will be required within 30-60 days of employment.
