Job description

Position Title: HVAC Sales Estimator
The HVAC Sales Estimator plays a crucial role in the technical sales and estimating process for design-build and plan/spec commercial HVAC projects. This position involves full ownership of the sales cycle, requiring a blend of technical expertise and persuasive sales skills. The estimator will engage with clients, providing comprehensive estimates for commercial projects while ensuring a focus on delivering value. Successful candidates will thrive in a dynamic environment, balancing technical understanding with effective communication. This role is essential for driving business growth and maintaining strong client relationships.
Salary Range: $120,000 / Year Base + commission
Responsibilities:
  • Estimate commercial HVAC projects, including design-build and plan/spec
  • Develop conceptual layouts and schematics, including equipment selection and pricing
  • Lead client conversations, value-sell, and close projects
  • Coordinate internal handoff to designer and project manager, overseeing design intent through permit handoff
  • Utilize Excel extensively and leverage internal takeoff support
  • Balance estimating and sales responsibilities, focusing on warm business opportunities

Requirements:
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record are required
  • Commercial HVAC estimating experience in design-build and plan/spec is required
  • Ability to lead client-facing sales and close deals is required
  • Strong technical understanding of equipment and systems is required
  • Experience in the HVAC/mechanical industry is preferred
  • Ability to handle design-build and plan-and-spec projects is preferred
  • Strong technical estimating skills is preferred
  • Ability to perform rough takeoff and scope estimate is preferred
