Yellowstone Local is proud to represent Brentโ€™s Heating & Cooling, an industry leader in residential HVAC services.

If you take pride in diagnosing HVAC problems correctly, treating customers fairly, and standing behind your work, this is a place where you can build a long-term career.

What's in it for You?
  • Pay: $24โ€“$30 per hour, based on experience and technical ability

  • Commission: 1% on qualifying new equipment sales you handle from start to finish

  • Full-time HVAC service work with Mondayโ€“Friday business operations

  • Paid time off, paid holidays, health insurance, and retirement plan

  • Company vehicle, tools, equipment, and uniforms provided

  • Ongoing HVAC training and advancement opportunities

  • Long-term career opportunity with a small, family-owned company

Why Youโ€™ll Love It Here
  • Join an established, family-owned HVAC company with more than 20 years of experience serving Northern Minnesota

  • Work in an environment built around responsibility, professionalism, integrity, quality workmanship, and pride in the job

  • Focus on diagnosing HVAC problems correctly and recommending solutions customers actually need

  • Leave high-pressure HVAC sales tactics behind. You are expected to serve the customer, not push unnecessary equipment

  • Earn commission when a qualifying equipment replacement is genuinely needed and you manage the sale from start to finish

  • Take ownership of your service calls while having the support of an experienced local team

  • Put your troubleshooting skills to work instead of simply swapping parts

  • Continue building your HVAC expertise through ongoing training and hands-on field experience

  • Grow your skills and career within a smaller company where quality work and professional responsibility matter

  • Build toward a long-term future in the HVAC trade with opportunities to advance

Your New Role
  • Work as an HVAC Service Technician based in Carlton, Minnesota, serving Duluth, Cloquet, and surrounding Northern Minnesota communities

  • Run HVAC service calls and take responsibility for troubleshooting, diagnosis, repair, and professional customer communication

  • Perform primarily residential HVAC service with the possibility of some light commercial HVAC work

  • Diagnose, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair heating and cooling systems

  • Service furnaces, central air conditioners, heat pumps, ductless mini-split systems, and related HVAC equipment

  • Perform preventive HVAC maintenance, seasonal tune-ups, and equipment inspections

  • Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, airflow, and refrigerant-related HVAC problems

  • Test components and accurately identify system and equipment failures

  • Repair and replace HVAC components based on accurate diagnostics and customer needs

  • Identify safety, efficiency, reliability, and performance concerns

  • Explain HVAC problems and repair options clearly and professionally to customers

  • Recommend new equipment when replacement is appropriate, without pressuring customers into products or services they do not need

  • Handle qualifying new equipment sales from start to finish when the opportunity arises

  • Complete service calls efficiently while maintaining high standards for workmanship and customer service

  • Document completed work and recommended repairs

  • Follow manufacturer specifications, company procedures, and applicable safety standards

  • Maintain an organized and professional service vehicle and work area

  • Represent the company with integrity, responsibility, professionalism, and pride in your work

  • Travel throughout Carlton, Duluth, Cloquet, and surrounding Northern Minnesota communities

Hiring Expectations: Apply today, complete a quick phone screening, and get ready for an interview with our team to discuss your goals and experience.

  • Approximately 2โ€“3 years of HVAC service, repair, troubleshooting, or closely related field experience

  • Hands-on experience diagnosing and repairing residential heating and cooling equipment

  • Ability to independently run HVAC service calls

  • Strong HVAC troubleshooting, diagnostic, and repair skills

  • Experience servicing furnaces and central air conditioning systems

  • Understanding of electrical and mechanical HVAC systems

  • Understanding of refrigerant systems and proper HVAC service procedures

  • Ability to accurately diagnose HVAC problems and determine appropriate repairs

  • Valid driverโ€™s license

  • Strong problem-solving and technical skills

  • Professional verbal communication and customer service skills

  • Ability to clearly explain HVAC issues and recommended solutions to customers

  • Commitment to integrity, responsibility, quality workmanship, and taking pride in your work

  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned service calls

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Ability to work in attics, crawl spaces, basements, mechanical rooms, and outdoor environments

  • Ability to perform the physical duties associated with HVAC service work

  • Experience with heat pumps, ductless mini-splits, light commercial HVAC systems, or boiler service is a plus

  • EPA Section 608 Certification or EPA Universal Certification
