Mitsubishi Electric Power Products, Inc. (MEPPI) is seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer I to plan, direct and support activities to assess and provide root cause analyses and corrective action implementation for Critical Power Solutions Division (CPSD) quality problems.

What Youll Do:

  • Maintain and improve the QA/QC program as defined in the Company's Quality Policy Manual.
  • Implement preventive actions to reduce and/or prevent quality problems.
  • Investigate quality problems by reviewing quality trends, tracking the root cause(s) of the problem(s), coordinating corrective actions and implanting appropriate adjustments. Resolve inquires to satisfaction in a professional, timely manner, responding verbally and/or in writing.
  • Communicate with new suppliers (materials services) to familiarize them with MEPPI Quality Assurance procedures; valuate supplier quality and ability of quality assurance prior to the supplier being approved.
  • Interact with various levels of employees in Engineering, Sales, Operations and Service Departments to prevent and/or remedy quality problems.
  • Travel to customer and/or supplier locations to analyze and remedy quality problems, often traveling on short notice.
  • Coordinate customer and supplier visits. Prepare documents to support customer and 3rd party audits.
  • Contact suppliers to discuss material specifications, service requirements, needs, and quality problems caused by material and/or subcomponents.
  • Develop and implement any required quality control policies, procedures, specifications, forms, checklists, reports, etc., for services, incoming material, and factory assembly, testing and shipping.
  • Approve test reports and inspection reports as required.
  • Develop procedures and implement program for calibration/certification of tools, test devices, etc.
  • Review suppliers' quality assurance programs and assist them to meet MEPPI requirements.
  • Coordinate the resolution of material or service deficiencies and the disposition on non-conforming reports (MRRs).
  • Assist in Company's ISO-9001 efforts. Lead internal audits.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of applicable government standards, quality codes, industry standards and Mitsubishi specifications.

What Youll Bring:

  • Bachelors Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or Industrial Management or other related technical area plus 0 to 2 years experience in quality control in a manufacturing environment or equivalent education and experience.
  • Basic knowledge of quality control, engineering, production, lean manufacturing, ISO 9001 and statistical methods and techniques.
  • Developed verbal and written communication skills
  • Developed computer skills with an emphasis on MS products.
