Job description

As a Cloud Migration Engineer, you will support the planning, execution, and optimization of cloud migration projects. Working closely with senior migration specialists, you will leverage a variety of migration tools and techniques. This role requires ensuring smooth, secure, and compliant migrations aligned with industry standards (CMMC, CIS, NIST, ISO 27001).
Key Responsibilities:
Cloud Migration Support
  • Assist with planning, executing, and documenting migration projects from on-premises and hybrid environments to Azure, AWS, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and Microsoft GCC/GCC High environments.
  • Conduct pre-migration assessments, including data analysis and migration readiness checks.
  • Execute migrations and conduct post-migration validation to ensure data integrity, compliance, and correct configuration of cloud environments.

Migration Tool Management
  • Utilize various migration tools and methodologies to execute migrations effectively.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of migration strategies, configurations, and outcomes following best practices.
  • Provide technical support and training to internal teams on migration processes and best practices.

Cloud Infrastructure & Security
  • Support the establishment of secure and compliant cloud infrastructure aligned with standards such as CMMC, NIST SP 800 series, DFARS, and ISO 27001.
  • Assist in configuring cloud environments, including network, storage, compute resources, and associated security controls.

Compliance and Documentation
  • Ensure migration projects maintain compliance with regulatory frameworks, including ITAR, DFARS, and GDPR.
  • Document comprehensive migration processes, standards, and best practices.

Collaboration & Training
  • Collaborate closely with cloud security engineers, project managers, and cybersecurity analysts to align migration projects with security and compliance requirements.
  • Develop training materials and documentation specific to cloud migration procedures.

Qualifications:
This position requires applicants to have current, interim eligibility or previous security clearance.
  • Candidates must have held or currently hold a clearance, or have documented eligibility based on a favorable background investigation.
  • Interim clearances will be accepted for consideration.
  • All clearances are encouraged to apply.
  • U.S. citizenship is required by federal regulation.

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent work/military experience.
  • Up to 3 years of experience in IT, cloud migrations, or related fields.
  • Basic knowledge of cloud environments (Azure, AWS, GCP, Microsoft GCC/GCC High).
  • Familiarity with compliance standards such as NIST SP 800-171, CMMC, and DFARS.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with AvePoint migration tools.
  • Entry-level certifications such as Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900), AWS Cloud Practitioner, or CompTIA Cloud+.
  • Exposure to Microsoft 365 environments, specifically SharePoint, Teams, and Exchange.
