Job Description: Electric Golf Cart Technician / Mechanic
Location: Plano, TX
Department: Technical Service & Dealer Support
Reports To: Service Manager
Positions Open: 12
Position Summary
The Electric Golf Cart Technician/Mechanic provides nationwide technical support to our dealer network, ensuring fast, accurate troubleshooting and high-quality service. This role is primarily responsible for oncall technical assistance, guiding dealers through diagnostics, repairs, and product questions. Based in Plano, the technician will also support inhouse service needs, product evaluations, and quality feedback to engineering and operations teams.
Key Responsibilities
Dealer Technical Support (Primary Function)
Provide oncall technical support to dealers nationwide, including troubleshooting, repair guidance, and configuration assistance.
Diagnose electrical, mechanical, and softwarerelated issues using manuals, schematics, and remote tools.
Document support cases and escalate recurring issues to engineering or quality teams.
Maintain strong communication with dealers to ensure high satisfaction and timely resolution.
InHouse Technical & Service Operations
Perform handson diagnostics, repairs, and component testing on electric golf carts.
Support predelivery inspections, quality checks, and product validation activities.
Assist with warranty evaluations and rootcause analysis for returned components.
Provide feedback to product, engineering, and manufacturing teams to improve reliability and serviceability.
Training & Dealer Enablement
Help develop technical guides, troubleshooting flowcharts, and service bulletins.
Support virtual or inperson dealer training sessions as needed.
Maintain uptodate knowledge of all models, components, and system updates.
Qualifications
Required
2+ years of experience as a technician or mechanic in electric vehicles, golf carts, powersports, automotive, or related fields.
Strong understanding of electrical systems, battery technology, wiring diagrams, and diagnostic tools.
Ability to troubleshoot remotely and communicate technical concepts clearly.
Excellent customerservice and problemsolving skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple support cases.
Preferred
Experience supporting a dealer or distributor network.
Familiarity with CAN bus systems, controllers, and EV drivetrains.
Experience writing service notes, technical documentation, or training materials.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform handson mechanical work.
Ability to stand, bend, and work in a shop environment as needed.
