Entry Level Github information

Can I get a job with only GitHub experience?

Entry-level jobs that require GitHub experience often look for demonstrated coding skills, project contributions, and familiarity with version control. While GitHub experience can be valuable, employers typically seek additional skills such as programming languages, problem-solving, and teamwork, making it unlikely to qualify solely with GitHub activity.

Job description

Build Real Business Tools Using AI
Talon Air is looking for someone who loves building things with AI.
You don't need years of software engineering experience or a computer science degree. If you've built projects using ChatGPT, Codex, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Claude, Replit, Bolt, Lovable, or similar AI tools, we want to hear from you.
This role is perfect for someone who enjoys figuring out problems, writing effective prompts, and turning ideas into working applications.
You'll work directly with company leadership to build internal tools that make our business run more efficiently.
What You'll Do
You'll use AI-powered development tools to create software that employees use every day, including:
  • Internal web applications
  • Dashboards and reporting tools
  • Workflow automations
  • Business process improvements
  • Forms and portals
  • AI-powered assistants
  • Scripts and integrations
  • Internal databases and utilities

You'll spend most of your time using modern AI development tools to build solutions-not writing thousands of lines of code from scratch.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for curious builders who like solving problems.
You should have:
  • Experience using AI tools to build projects
  • Strong prompting skills
  • Basic programming knowledge (Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, or similar)
  • Ability to learn new software quickly
  • Good communication skills
  • Interest in improving business operations through technology

You do not need to be an expert software engineer.
Great Candidates Might Have
  • Built personal AI projects
  • Created automations for school, work, or personal use
  • Used Cursor, Codex, ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, Claude, Bolt, Lovable, Replit, or similar tools
  • Worked with APIs
  • Built simple web apps
  • Used Google Sheets or Excel automation
  • Connected different software together
  • Learned through online courses or personal projects
Bonus Skills
Experience with any of these is helpful but not required:
  • Python
  • JavaScript
  • TypeScript
  • SQL
  • APIs
  • React
  • Dashboards
  • Low-code/no-code platforms
  • Workflow automation
  • Git
What Success Looks Like
In this role you'll:
  • Turn ideas into working tools quickly
  • Use AI to accelerate development
  • Improve internal business processes
  • Learn new technologies as AI evolves
  • Build software employees actually enjoy using
Why Join Talon Air?
Technology is becoming a core part of how we operate.
You'll work directly with leadership to build proprietary software that improves how our company functions. Rather than maintaining existing products, you'll have the opportunity to create new tools, automate processes, and explore practical applications of AI that have a real impact on the business.
If you're someone who enjoys experimenting with AI, building useful applications, and learning new technologies, this role offers the chance to turn those skills into a career.
We encourage you to apply even if you don't meet every qualification.
If you've built interesting projects with AI, enjoy solving problems, and can show us what you've created, we'd love to hear from you.
Please include links to GitHub repositories, personal projects, demos, or anything you've built using AI.
