  • Provide individual and small-group counseling.
  • Provide consultation and resources to staff to strengthen social-emotional support within the classroom.
  • Perform in-person observations of students in classrooms and play areas to assess social-emotional needs and safety risks in real-time.
  • Develop and implement actionable intervention plans and goals based on real-time assessments.
  • Support students during transitions, challenging situations, and periods of emotional distress.
  • Adjust counseling focus and student/class assignments as needed to respond to evolving institutional priorities, changes in student demographics, or the shifting clinical needs of the student body.
  • Collaborate with teachers, inclusion specialists, classroom specialists, administrators, and families to support students' social-emotional needs.
  • Participate in Student Support Team meetings and contribute to student support plans and progress monitoring.
  • Maintain appropriate documentation and confidentiality.
  • Follow school policies and procedures related to student safety and mandated reporting.
  • Perform professional duties as assigned by the Head of Student Support Team or School Leadership to ensure the comprehensive safety and well-being of the school community.

Experience and Qualifications:
  • Degree in School Counseling, School Psychology, Social Work or related field.
  • Experience working with children grades 1-12 in an educational setting.
  • Experience and/or openness to work with elementary school students.
  • Strong understanding of child and adolescent social-emotional development.
  • Experience implementing mental health interventions and de-escalation techniques.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • German language skills and experience in a bilingual or international school setting are a plus.
  • Authorized to work in the US for any employer.
