Job description

Geo-Technology Associates, Inc. (GTA) is an engineering and consulting firm serving the civil engineering industry through geotechnical, construction observation and testing, and related environmental and natural resources services. We support projects with practical field expertise and a commitment to quality, helping clients gather the information they need to move work forward with confidence.

GTA is seeking Geotechnical Field Technicians at our Philadelphia, PA office. This opportunity is well suited to someone who is ready to begin or build a career in field services within geotechnical and construction testing. As a Geotechnical Field Technician, you will contribute to important site and materials work that supports project teams and helps maintain reliable field data and testing processes.

Responsibilities
  • Perform construction observation and testing of soil, concrete, and other materials. Experience is preferred, but we will accept entry level candidates and provide training!  

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering, Geology, or a related field (preferred but not required)
  • Relevant certifications such as NICET, ACI, WACEL, or PDOT (preferred but not required)
  • Own a reliable vehicle and have a good driving record
  • Enjoy working outdoors
  • Able to work independently as well as part of a team
  • U.S. citizen or U.S. permanent resident

This position may require standing for extended durations as well as repetitive motions such as lifting or hammering. The employee must have the ability to use their hands to handle, finger or feel; reach, climb or balance; crouch, stoop, crawl, kneel and sit; and meet the vision requirements needed for field work, including close, distance, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.

The employee will regularly lift and/or move 60 pounds and occasionally move 80 pounds or more.
