Job description

Position Summary

RX Medical is seeking a motivated, highly professional Clinical Associate to join the Pain Division in an entry-level field role designed to build clinical knowledge, customer relationships, and a strong foundation in the medical device industry. The Clinical Associate will spend the majority of field time inside physician clinics rather than operating rooms, hospitals, or ambulatory surgery centers. The role will support both interventional spine and chronic pain initiatives, with an anticipated 60/40 emphasis toward chronic pain and RX Medical’s peripheral nerve stimulation business.

This position is intentionally patient-adjacent and relationship-driven. The Clinical Associate will work closely with healthcare providers and clinic staff to support referral pathways, scheduling, patient identification workflows, education, follow-up, and coordination of appropriate next steps within established clinical and company processes. The role will collaborate extensively with RX Medical’s manufacturing partner, Curonix, and its Oklahoma clinical leadership.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Develop consistent, professional relationships with physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, medical assistants, referral coordinators, schedulers, office managers, and other clinic stakeholders across Oklahoma.
  • Spend significant field time in customer clinics supporting chronic pain workflows, with particular emphasis on peripheral nerve stimulation (PNS).
  • Partner with the Curonix Clinical Manager and RX Medical Pain leadership to support clinic education, patient identification processes, referral development, scheduling, and continuity of patient progression.
  • Help clinic teams understand and consistently use established patient-selection algorithms, referral pathways, documentation expectations, and treatment workflows while remaining within the scope of the role and all applicable policies.
  • Facilitate communication between referring healthcare providers and treating pain practices to strengthen appropriate referral networks and reduce gaps in patient handoffs.
  • Track customer and staff touchpoints, follow-up activity, referral opportunities, patient progression, and other assigned field metrics with accuracy and consistency.
  • Support educational meetings, in-services, office-based training, and customer follow-up in coordination with sales representatives, clinical personnel, and manufacturing partners.
  • Learn RX Medical’s broader Pain portfolio and develop working knowledge of interventional spine solutions in addition to chronic pain therapies.
  • Maintain organized territory planning, timely communication, and reliable follow-through across a statewide geography.
  • Represent RX Medical with professionalism, urgency, integrity, discretion, and a patient-first mindset.
Performance & Success Measures

Success will be evaluated primarily through activity quality, relationship development, clinical workflow support, and execution rather than through a stand-alone sales quota. Measures may include:

  • Meaningful HCP and clinic-staff touchpoints and documented follow-up.
  • Growth and quality of communication between referring providers and treating pain practices.
  • Effective support of PNS patient identification, referral, scheduling, and progression workflows.
  • Responsiveness, reliability, territory coverage, and completion of assigned follow-up.
  • Demonstrated growth in clinical knowledge, product competency, professional communication, and field independence.
  • Effective collaboration with the RX Medical Pain team and Curonix clinical leadership.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • No prior medical device experience required; this is an entry-level development role.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills and comfort interacting with healthcare professionals and patients in a professional clinical setting.
  • High level of organization, follow-through, curiosity, coachability, and personal accountability.
  • Ability to learn clinical concepts, medical terminology, technology, and structured patient-care workflows.
  • Comfort working independently in the field while remaining closely aligned with leadership and cross-functional partners.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel throughout the state of Oklahoma as business needs require.
  • Ability to comply with customer credentialing, privacy, compliance, safety, and facility requirements applicable to the role.
Development & Career Path

RX Medical views the Clinical Associate position as a development role with meaningful long-term career potential. The expected development horizon is approximately two years, allowing the associate to build clinical fluency, customer confidence, field discipline, and a strong understanding of the Pain business. Although clinic-based work is the core of the position, associates who demonstrate the aptitude, interest, and required competencies may receive exposure to operating room, hospital, or ASC environments as part of their professional development. Future opportunities may include expanded clinical responsibilities, sales roles, or other leadership and commercial pathways based on performance, business need, and individual career goals.
