Job Summary: ALS Services USA, Corp is seeking a Laboratory Technician 1 to perform routine laboratory tests and analyses, ensuring accuracy and adherence to established protocols. This entry-level position is crucial for supporting our analytical operations.
Shift & Working Pattern Requirements
Evening shift, 4pm-12:30am.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Prepare samples for various laboratory analyses according to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Operate and maintain basic laboratory equipment, including but not limited to centrifuges, pH meters, and balances.
  • Perform routine chemical and physical tests on samples, accurately recording results.
  • Assist senior laboratory staff with more complex testing procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and organized laboratory workspace.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Document all work accurately and legibly in laboratory notebooks or LIMS system.
  • Participate in quality control activities and instrument calibration as directed.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions or discrepancies to supervisory staff.
  • Assist with inventory management of laboratory supplies and reagents.

Job Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a scientific field (e.g., Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science) preferred.
  • 0-2 years of experience in a laboratory setting, preferably in an analytical or industrial environment.
  • Basic understanding of laboratory safety procedures and good laboratory practices (GLP).
  • Proficiency in basic laboratory techniques (e.g., pipetting, weighing, solution preparation).
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to perform tasks with precision.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 25 pounds, and perform repetitive tasks.
