General Laborer - Retread Production 
Pay Rate:
  • Shift 1 (Day Shift): $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
  • Additional Team Monthly Productivity Bonus Available if goals are met
Position Summary
McCarthy Tire Service is seeking an entry level, motivated, dependable, and safety-focused individuals to join our Retread Production Team as General Laborers. This position plays a key role in the retread manufacturing process by supporting the inspection, preparation, processing, and finishing of commercial truck tires. Successful candidates will thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, work effectively as part of a team, and contribute to meeting production, quality, and safety goals.

Essential Job Responsibilities
  • Perform general labor duties throughout all phases of the retread manufacturing process.
  • Inspect commercial tires to determine retread eligibility and identify defects.
  • Prepare tires for retreading through buffing, cleaning, and processing operations.
  • Assist with the application of tread rubber and other retread components.
  • Perform finishing and final preparation tasks on completed retread tires.
  • Conduct quality inspections to ensure products meet company standards and customer expectations.
  • Record, track, and monitor production information throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Load, unload, transport, and handle tires, materials, and finished products safely.
  • Operate production equipment and machinery in accordance with established procedures and safety guidelines.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Follow all company policies, procedures, OSHA requirements, and safety regulations.
  • Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, gloves, and other designated safety gear.
  • Support team productivity goals and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Perform other production and general labor duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous manufacturing, warehouse, production, tire industry, retread, or general labor experience is beneficial but not required.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and commitment to safety.
  • Ability to meet established production, attendance, and quality standards.
  • Mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience are a plus.
  • Willingness to learn all aspects of the retread manufacturing process.
Safety Requirements
  • Adhere to all safety policies and procedures outlined in the Employee Safety Manual.
  • Wear required PPE at all times while performing job duties.
  • Follow proper lifting, material handling, and equipment operation procedures.
  • Maintain housekeeping standards and a safe work environment.
  • Successfully complete a pre-employment drug screen and physical examination.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to regularly lift and move up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, push, pull, and perform repetitive movements throughout the work shift.
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding manufacturing environment for extended periods.
