Requirements

SUMMARY OF DUTIES:

Provides quality assurance and engineering technical expertise to fully support manufacturing operations in accordance with customer and business requirements.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ensures product quality is defined, achieved, maintained, and monitored for all parts and processes

Leads continuous improvement through root cause and statistical analysis of manufacturing processes

Contributes to quality engineering and related projects to meet LEAN and customer-based targets


SPECIFIC DUTIES ASSIGNED:

QUALITY ENGINEERING

Assists in establishing, implementing, and maintaining Quality Management System and related elements

Analyzes failures; identifies corrective and preventative actions, follow-ups, and closure of cases

Manages, monitors, and audits supplier acceptance requirements, performance, and defects

Determines quality improvement parameters through statistical and root-cause analysis including Cpk (Process Capability Index) and Ppk (Process Performance Index)

Develops, presents, and discusses proposals and refinements

Ensures timely resolution of internal, supplier, and escape defects and/or failures

Recommends, determines, and implements appropriate corrective actions for quality issues

Creates highly detailed documentation for the development and manufacturing of products

Develops and recommends resources and methods for material and processes; assists with quotations

Performs routine inspections and audits of processes and data in accordance with defined sampling plans


MANUFACTURING SUPPORT

Provides input for routers, inspection criteria, process flow, etc.

Understands capabilities of manufacturing operations including quality, LEAN manufacturing, & personnel

Confers with engineering and manufacturing teams on business and customer quality requirements

Offers guidance and expertise to manufacturing teams on application and methods


GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Receive and understand daily job assignments, priorities, and work instruction

Organize, clean, and maintain work area to promote neatness

Assure all department work centers and related areas are safely maintained, clean, and organized

Performs all work within the scope of abilities under all quality and safety policies and practices

Establish and maintain effective, positive, and professional communication with all co-workers

Willingly performs other duties as trained and able

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Verifiable High School Diploma or equivalent

Bachelor's degree within engineering, quality engineering, or similar field highly preferred

5-7 years in a quality engineering role and experience inspecting conventionally machined (turning, milling, and drilling) parts
