Job description

To assist in the cleanliness and efficiency of the front-of-the-house area in order to maintain a productive and comfortable atmosphere in which to provide exceptional guest service. The bus person/dishwasher works under the Front of the House's general direction. He/she is responsible for bussing tables, cleaning all restaurant areas, maintaining dish room organization, washing and storing dishes, and assisting servers in their basic operations.
Job Duties:
  • Assist in the removal of dirty dishes from tables during and after guests' meals.
  • Assist in the cleaning of tables, chairs, windows, floors, highchairs, boosters, booths, spice caddies, and pie racks.
  • Keep dishwashing areas organized, including washing dirty dishes, returning clean dishes to designated areas, emptying slop buckets/garbage cans, taking garbage to dumpsters, and setting up, breaking down and cleaning the dishwashing unit.
  • Maintain cleanliness of parking lots and building exteriors.
  • Communicate with servers/hosts to ensure dining room efficiency and guest service.
  • Assist in stocking wait stations with silverware, cups, ice, and plates.
  • Maintain organization and cleanliness of janitorial closet and cleaning supplies.
  • Assist in the clean-up of any spills or accidents.
  • Assist in restaurant maintenance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or manager including store specific opening, closing, and side work procedures.
