As an Entry Level Full Stack Software Engineer, you'll likely work on a range of web application projects involving both front-end and back-end development. Common technologies include JavaScript frameworks like React or Angular for the front end, and Node.js, Python, or Java for the back end, along with databases such as MySQL or MongoDB. You'll collaborate closely with designers, senior developers, and QA engineers, often participating in agile sprints and code reviews. Based on decades of experience with our customers, we apply leading-edge technologies to support security and safety throughout the world. We engineer our products from start to finish and manufacture them in-house. We're known for low volume and high capability with focused specialization in areas including software-defined radios, advanced antenna solutions, artificial intelligence and machine learning, cybersecurity, signals intelligence and more. We can't tell you much more about what we do, but we can tell you it's amazing.
Job Description
Work Model: On-site with flexible scheduling options (e.g., flexible start/stop times, 4-day/10-hour work weeks available)
The Role
We are looking for an ambitious, highly versatile Full Stack .NET Developer to join our close-knit internal business tools team. Because we operate as a small, agile group, you will wear many hats and have a hand in every phase of the software development lifecycle. You won't just be writing code, you will sit down with end-users to gather requirements, manage daily Helpdesk tickets from our internal customers, write documentation, deploy custom tools, ensure strict security standards, and even help maintain our web and SQL servers.
Your primary focus will be developing brand-new internal tools using the latest .NET technologies (leveraging AI coding assistants to work smarter!), while also migrating and maintaining a handful of legacy .NET Framework/MVC applications as time permits. Additionally, you'll help us integrate and extend enterprise Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) applications. If you love variety, enjoy end-to-end ownership of your projects, and want to see the direct impact of your work on our business groups, this is the perfect role for you.
Key Responsibilities
  • Full Lifecycle Development: Design, develop, and deploy modern custom internal applications using the latest .NET technologies, leveraging AI coding assistants and prompt engineering to accelerate development and enhance code quality. Occasionally maintain legacy .NET Framework/ASP.NET tools.
  • Internal Customer Support: Actively manage, troubleshoot, and resolve Helpdesk tickets submitted by internal users to support their daily business operations.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Meet directly with internal business groups to capture requirements, specifically identifying access control and security needs, and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Security & Compliance: Write security-conscious code mitigating Open Worldwide Application Security Project (OWASP) and Common Weakness Enumeration (CWE) Top 25 vulnerabilities. Assist with system hardening, such as applying Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), to ensure our applications and servers meet strict government compliance standards like the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC).
  • Systems Integration: Help integrate and extend key enterprise Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) applications, such as Deltek Costpoint and Aras Innovator.
  • Infrastructure & DevOps: Share responsibility for maintaining our web servers (IIS) and SQL servers, handle software installations, and utilize Git and Jira for version control and issue tracking.
  • Quality & Documentation: Write and execute unit tests, and create comprehensive technical documentation including System Requirements and Acceptance Test Plans (ATPs).

What We Are Looking For
We know that the best candidates don't always check every box. If you are excited about this role and have a solid foundation in .NET development, we strongly encourage you to apply. Many of the specialized skills below can be learned on the job!
Core Qualifications (What you should bring on day one):
  • Strong experience in full-stack web development, heavily focused on Microsoft .NET technologies (C#, latest .NET / .NET Core, ASP.NET).
  • Strong experience with relational databases, specifically Microsoft SQL Server (writing complex queries, basic server understanding).
  • Solid understanding of secure coding principles and application security.
  • Experience utilizing AI coding assistants and prompt engineering to streamline development workflows.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with a proven track record of gathering requirements directly from non-technical end-users and providing excellent Helpdesk support.
  • Working knowledge of source control (Git) and Agile project management software (Jira).

Bonus Skills (What you can learn on the job):
  • Experience with government cybersecurity compliance frameworks (e.g., CMMC, NIST) and system hardening (STIGs).
  • Experience configuring and maintaining web server software (IIS).
  • Familiarity with enterprise reporting tools like IBM Cognos and SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).
  • Experience integrating COTS applications (prior experience with Deltek Costpoint and/or Aras Innovator is a massive plus).
  • Experience writing unit tests and technical documentation (ATPs, System Requirements).
