They are usually recent graduates or individuals with limited industry experience who possess foundational programming skills in multiple technologies. Their responsibilities often include writing and debugging code, collaborating with team members, and learning new tools and frameworks as required. Entry-level full stack developers are expected to build and maintain applications under the guidance of more senior developers, gradually expanding their expertise and responsibilities over time.

Entry-level full stack software developers support senior staff in the development of a company at all layers of its computer and network platforms. In this role, you may code content for both the front-end and back-end of the system, evaluate existing programming to determine whether or not it should be changed, and help optimize operations. Entry-level full stack software engineers code in a variety of languages, including PHP, CSS, JavaScript, and HTML. As an entry-level employee, your main job is to learn more about programming in a business environment until you are proficient with the company's network operations. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on infrastructure, UX, and internal tooling to deliver enterprise-grade features.

Job description

Standard Template Labs is an AI-native, seed stage startup reimagining the future of IT Service and Configuration Management. Backed by leading investors, we're leveraging AI, graph-based architecture, and exceptional design to transform how enterprises manage and engage with their technology ecosystems.
About the RoleWe are seeking Full Stack Engineers with deep experience designing and building enterprise-grade applications. You'll be responsible for building user-facing features and backend services end-to-end, collaborating closely with designers, product engineers, and infrastructure experts.
Responsibilities
  • Own features end-to-end: design, implement, test, and deploy user-facing functionality and backend APIs
  • Shape the stack: work across front-end, backend, and database layers (stack not set yet - you'll help define it)
  • AI-native product development: integrate AI/LLM capabilities into workflows to make ITSM smarter and more efficient
  • Performance & scale: build highly performant, secure, and scalable services for enterprise customers
  • Collaborate cross-functionally: partner with platform engineers on infrastructure, and with product/design on UX
  • Developer productivity: contribute to internal tooling, code quality, and CI/CD best practices
  • Security & compliance: bake in enterprise-grade security and compliance (SOC 2, ISO 27001) from day one
  • Customer impact: deliver features that enterprise users actually love, in contrast to the legacy tools they tolerate

Qualifications
  • Education: Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field from a top-tier engineering school
  • Experience: Full Stack Engineering (or Software Engineer with end-to-end ownership) in SaaS environments serving enterprise customers
  • Frontend: Skilled with modern frameworks (React, Vue, Angular, or similar). Strong understanding of design systems and building clean, performant UIs
  • Backend: Proficient in at least one modern programming language (Python, Go, Rust, C++ or similar). Experience designing REST/GraphQL APIs and distributed systems
  • Databases: Hands-on with relational (Postgres/MySQL) and ideally non-relational or graph databases
  • Cloud: Strong experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure
  • DevOps: Familiar with CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes, and IaC (Terraform)
  • Mindset: Pragmatic, product-driven engineer who thrives in high-velocity startup environments
  • Bonus: Experience building applications with AI/LLM integrations, or exposure to ITSM/enterprise workflows. Taking products from 0 to 1

What We Offer
  • Build foundational product features for an AI-first enterprise platform
  • The opportunity to take ownership of critical systems that scale to millions of users
  • A culture that values craftsmanship, autonomy, and technical excellence
  • Competitive compensation, equity, and benefits package
  • Work from our Flatiron District, Manhattan office, where you'll be side-by-side with the founding team in a supportive, collaborative setting. Our team works on-site five days a week, growing and building together, and the location is easy to reach with plenty of public transportation options.

As an equal opportunity employer, we don't tolerate discrimination or harassment of any kind. Whether that's based on race, ethnicity, age, gender identity, citizenship, religion, sexual orientation, disability, pregnancy, veteran status or any other protected characteristic as outlined by federal, state or local laws. The reasonably estimated yearly salary for this role at is: $160,000-$230,000 USD
