Junior Estimator – Commercial Drywall

Location: Savannah, GA or Charleston, SC


About the Opportunity

We’re working with an established commercial drywall contractor looking to add a Junior Estimator to their growing preconstruction team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their career who wants hands-on training, mentorship, and a clear path into a long-term estimating role.

If you’re detail-oriented, motivated, and interested in construction, this role offers the chance to learn from experienced estimators while working on real commercial projects.


Position Overview

The Junior Estimator will support the estimating team in preparing accurate cost estimates for drywall and related scopes. You’ll gain exposure to the full bidding process—from takeoffs to proposal submission—while building a strong foundation in construction estimating.


Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with quantity takeoffs for drywall, metal studs, insulation, ceilings, and related systems
  • Review drawings, specifications, and bid documents
  • Help solicit and track vendor and subcontractor pricing
  • Support the preparation of bid proposals and documentation
  • Maintain cost databases and estimating files
  • Coordinate with project managers, estimators, and field teams for scope clarification
  • Participate in project handoff meetings after award
  • Help ensure all bid deadlines are met

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
  • Basic understanding of construction drawings and terminology
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general computer skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment
  • Strong communication skills and willingness to learn
