This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Office of Information Technology (OIT).
As a Full Stack Engineer, GS-2210-13, you will provide high-level technical expertise in support of new or existing applications software in one or multiple specialties.

  • Design and/or develop software, systems and systems to systems to achieve specified outcomes, capabilities, and architectures for data management.
  • Optimize application solutions to run in a timely manner.
  • Create architecture design and network topologies and develop approaches to support infrastructure, applications, and data.
  • Provide technical guidance, interpretation, implementation and / or oversight of applicable cyber security policies, processes, and practices to ensure continued operational availability.

In order to qualify for the GS-13, you must meet the following: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one year (52 weeks) of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal government, obtained in either the private or public sector, to include:
1. Leading the design and development of Application Programming Interfaces (APIs), serverless functions, or microservices to enable secure data access and interoperability for developers, business partners, or internal departments; and
2. Architecting and leading the development of software applications and enterprise system integrations using modern programming languages and frameworks to support large-scale data management, business process automation, or system modernization initiatives; and
3. Leading cross-functional teams in defining requirements, delivering technical solutions, or implementing software systems that support organizational goals and priorities.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills, and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
