Job description

Position Scope

The Engineering Coop Program within North American Construction Group will provide you with valuable exposure to heavy equipment reliability/maintenance engineering.

We are currently looking to hire aย Maintenance Full Stack Developer studentย for our co-op program based out of our Acheson office, located 10 minutes west of Edmonton.

Our Acheson location houses both our head office, on the upper level and our maintenance shop, on the ground floor. The shop is our main coordination point for the maintenance of the NACG owned and operated fleet. NACG owns over 600 pieces of heavy equipment including hydraulic shovels, excavators, haul trucks, dozers, graders, articulating trucks, skid steers and other types of heavy equipment.

Responsibilities

NACG is in the process of developing an internal computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) solution to support field maintenance and operations teams in planning and executing work, managing preventive maintenance programs, ordering parts, and evaluating equipment condition and status.

Working under the direction of the Reliability Manager, the successful candidate will support the Maintenance Software Engineer in developing, deploying, and maintaining NACG's new CMMS solution. The role involves contributing within an evolving, complex software development environment including mobile and web frontends and backend APIs. As priorities evolve, the successful candidate may also contribute to other internal software development initiatives that support maintenance and operations teams.

  • Developing real-time data analyses to improve equipment health outcomes
  • Analyzing bulk equipment data to understand and explain trends in equipment health
  • Building reports for wide audiences communicating analytics
  • Development/improvement of internal team tools
  • Development of software solutions for program expansion
  • Monitoring data source devices and troubleshooting firmware issues
  • Maintaining and standardizing data templates
  • Monitoring and maintenance of servers and services
Qualifications
  • Candidates must have strong previous project or professional .NET, React and/or React Native experience
  • Prior experience with cloud infrastructure and CI/CD processes considered an asset
  • Highly motivated individuals who have excellent communication, organizational and problem-solving skills
    • Familiarity with Agile project management strategies considered an asset
    • Familiarity with Azure DevOps considered an asset
  • Candidates with an interest in heavy equipment and mining
  • You must hold a valid class 5 driver's license to be considered for this position
