Our collaborative team of web developers and designers build, maintain, and operate digital services that citizens rely on every day. In this role, you will help design, develop, and maintain high-quality websites and web applications that improve accessibility, usability, and overall user experience for the communities we serve.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Web Developer who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to innovative web, mobile, and e-commerce applications as they move from initial client concept through successful launch. The ideal candidate will work closely with a team of highly skilled project managers, developers, and designers, collaborating with partners across various levels of state government to deliver impactful digital solutions.
Responsibilities
The Drupal Developer will support and enhance projects within the CMS COE. This role is critical to maintaining platform stability, resolving issues, and ensuring accessibility compliance across 100+ websites.
This position includes a significant focus on maintenance and support work, along with contributing to new feature development, accessibility and platform improvements within a standardized Drupal environment.
  • Perform ongoing maintenance and support:
  • Troubleshoot and resolve bugs, incidents, and defects
  • Implement accessibility fixes aligned with WCAG 2.1 / 2.2 standards 
  • Address content, configuration, and theming issues
  • Develop and maintain Drupal 9/10/11 sites in a multisite architecture
  • Build and enhance custom modules, themes, and reusable compoents
  • Implement frontend solutions using Twig (required), SCSS, and JavaScript
  • Create and modify Twig templates (nodes, paragraphs, views, layouts)
  • Use preprocess functions to structure data for frontend rendering
  • Support deployments using Acquia Cloud and CI/CD pipelines
  • Collaborate with QA and project teams to validate and deliver fixes
  • Contribute to platform improvements that reduce recurring maintenance issues
  • Track and manage work in Jira
Qualifications
  • Strong experience with Drupal (custom modules, hooks, services, configuration managment)
  • Proficiency in PHP and Drupal APIs
  • Required: Hands-on experience with Twig templating
  • Experience with Drupal theming and preprocess functions
  • Solid frontend development skills (HTML, SCSS/CSS, JavaScript)
  • Experience troubleshooting and resolving production issues
  • Familiarity with Git workflows and CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience working in multisite or multi-environment architectures
  • Understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1 or higher)
Work Environment
