What You'll Do
Embark on a rewarding entry-level role in healthcare! Support our dedicated healthcare team by assisting with daily responsibilities in dining, housekeeping, clerical tasks, and other related services.
Location - Arcadia Retirement Residence (Health Care Center)
The following shifts are available:
  • Full Time (Work 35 to 40 hours per week) FLEXIBLE Monday thru Sunday, 10:00 am - 6:00 pm
Pay Range
  • $17.00 to $18.53 Hourly
Responsibilities
  • Reviews meal tickets, prepares dining room for meals including cleaning/bussing tables, setting up utensils, preparing dishes to be sent to the kitchen; assists residents to dining table.
  • Serves resident meals in a family style environment and delivers meals to resident rooms.
  • Transports residents with ambulation to and from their room to appropriate areas for activities and meals.
  • Takes and records the residents':
    1. Assigned ADL tasks including but not limiting to transfers, range of motion, passive range of motion and ambulation
    2. Vitals (temperature, blood pressure, pulse, weight, and respiration rates)
    3. Intake and output of food and fluid
  • Provides companion services according to service plan.
  • Observes and reports to Licensed Staff all changes in condition (including significant changes), behavior or whereabouts that may require intervention.
  • Monitors and supervises residents as assigned.
  • Records all chargeable time provided by Arcadia Family of Companies (AFC).
  • Obtains and issues supplies, as needed which may require driving the company vehicle.
  • Assists in maintaining a safe and clean environment for residents and staff through assistance with laundry, changing bed linens; cleaning, sanitizing and maintaining wheelchairs.
  • Responsible for maintaining an adequate level of supplies and ordering as necessary.
  • Encourage participation in exercise classes, social and recreational activities.
  • Adheres to assigned work schedules and accurately uses the time and attendance system.
  • Participates in Continuous Quality Improvement and/or Quality Assurance Programs.
  • Interacts with clients and members in accordance with AFCs' mission, core values, mindsets and guideposts.
  • Exercises caution and good safety judgment in uncertain conditions or situations, and report and/or correct hazards, potential or actual.
  • Ensures that all resident rights and privacy are protected and enforced, and establishes and maintains a close liaison with clients, members', and families.
  • Attends mandatory in-service programs.
  • Complies with annual employee health screening in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Participates and assists during emergency drills and situations such as fire, fire alarms, hurricanes, and other possible emergencies as outlined in the Disaster Response Playbook and/or the disaster policy.

Education/Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Computer Skills
Proficiency in using a computer, which may include using such software as Vision or Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word) and other applicable software applications.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, sit, and taste or smell. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; push and pull. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
