THE POSITION

Canyon State Electric is currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Fire Alarm Technician with NICET certification to join our dynamic team. This role is essential for ensuring the proper installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of fire alarm systems according to industry standards and local codes. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining our commitment to safety and customer satisfaction.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Install various types of fire alarm systems, including wiring, devices, and control panels, according to engineering specifications and compliance with local, state, and national codes.
  • Perform regular maintenance, inspections, and repairs of fire alarm systems to ensure functionality and efficiency. Troubleshoot complex issues and make recommendations for system enhancements.
  • Conduct detailed testing and commissioning of new and existing fire alarm systems to ensure they meet all requirements and function correctly.
  • Accurately complete all necessary documentation including service reports, testing logs, and compliance forms. Maintain detailed records of all inspections, maintenance, and repairs performed.
  • Provide high-quality customer service, offering clear communication and feedback about the status and safety of their systems. Address customer concerns and ensure their satisfaction with services provided.
  • Stay updated with the latest fire protection codes and standards. Ensure all work is performed in compliance with the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards and other relevant regulations.
  • Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other technicians to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget. Share knowledge and assist in training junior technicians.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • NICET Level I - IV certification with experience in fire alarm system installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting preferred.
  • Strong understanding of fire alarm system design, configuration, and operational requirements. Familiarity with various fire alarm panels and devices.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve issues efficiently and effectively, ensuring minimal downtime. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of clearly explaining complex systems.
  • High level of attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and quality.
  • Ability to work in various environments and ascend ladders, work in confined spaces, and lift equipment up to 50 pounds.
