Cost Accountant / Financial Analyst - Manufacturing | $40-$44/Hour | Rutland, VT

Adecco Staffing is partnering with a leading manufacturing organization to hire a Cost Accountant / Financial Analyst to support plant operations and the Site Finance Leader. This role is ideal for candidates with experience in manufacturing accounting, cost accounting, inventory valuation, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.

This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional with experience in manufacturing, cost accounting, financial analysis, or FP&A who wants to make a direct impact on operational and financial performance.

In this role, you will collaborate with finance and operations leaders to analyze business performance, support budgeting and forecasting processes, manage inventory reporting, and provide insights that drive cost savings and operational efficiency.

Pay: $40-$44 per hour based on experience

Schedule: Monday-Friday, day shift, with overtime opportunities as needed

Assignment Length: Long term 18-month contract with potential for extension, conversion, or future opportunities.


What You'll Do
  • Prepare, analyze, and distribute financial and operational reports for plant leadership

  • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual forecasting and budgeting activities

  • Develop and maintain financial models, dashboards, and reporting tools

  • Analyze manufacturing costs, operating expenses, and business trends

  • Monitor inventory valuation, inventory turnover, aged inventory, work-in-process (WIP), and obsolescence trends

  • Track and support capital expenditure (CapEx) projects and investment reporting

  • Assist with asset management activities, including CIP (Construction in Progress) and asset reviews

  • Partner with operations, supply chain, production, and finance teams to improve reporting accuracy and identify cost-saving opportunities

  • Investigate variances between actual and budgeted expenses and provide actionable recommendations

  • Analyze transportation, logistics, and operational spending to identify efficiencies and reduce costs

  • Create reports and dashboards using Excel and business intelligence tools

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and data-driven decision making across the facility

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related field

  • 2+ years of experience in financial analysis, cost accounting, FP&A, controllership, or manufacturing finance

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including:

    • Pivot Tables

    • VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP

    • Financial modeling

    • Complex formulas

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively across departments

  • Excellent attention to detail and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience within a manufacturing, industrial, automotive, or production environment

  • Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, or similar platforms

  • Knowledge of cost accounting and inventory accounting principles

  • Experience with Power BI, Tableau, Spotfire, Hyperion, SmartView, or similar reporting tools a plus

  • Continuous improvement mindset with a focus on process optimization
