The AI Developer is a member of the Digital & Technology team responsible for developing, implementing, and supporting AI-powered applications, automation solutions, and agent-based systems that enhance business operations and user productivity. This is first and foremost a software engineering role, requiring solid engineering fundamentals and a track record of shipping reliable software, with AI and agent-based systems as the current focus. The role takes well-scoped problems from design through deployment and iteration, delivering dependable solutions with growing independence.
Reporting to the Director of Engineering, this role works closely with software engineers, architects, business stakeholders, legal teams, data professionals, and technology partners to design, build, test, and maintain scalable AI solutions. The position contributes to the delivery of innovative products and services that advance the firm's use of AI.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Design, develop, test, and maintain AI-powered applications, automation solutions, and agent-based systems that support business needs.
  • Collaborate with business and functional stakeholders to understand workflows, gather requirements, and translate needs into technical solutions.
  • Develop software components and integrations using technologies such as C#/.NET, Python, TypeScript, React, APIs, and related development frameworks.
  • Configure and support AI solutions using Microsoft Azure AI services and related cloud technologies.
  • Assist in the implementation of retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), prompt engineering, and agent workflows, using orchestration frameworks such as LangChain/LangGraph, Microsoft Agent Framework, or LlamaIndex.
  • Participate in application architecture discussions and contribute recommendations for scalable, maintainable solutions.
  • Develop and execute unit tests, integration tests, and validation processes to ensure solution quality and reliability.
  • Monitor application performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement enhancements to improve functionality and user experience.
  • Follow established software development lifecycle (SDLC), change management, security, and operational standards.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, solution designs, deployment procedures, and support materials.
  • Collaborate with Information Security and other stakeholders to support secure, compliant, and responsible use of AI technologies.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of development practices, standards, and team knowledge.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Participate in pilot programs, proof-of-concepts, and technology evaluations related to AI and automation.
  • Support user training, adoption activities, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:

  • Minimum 2-4 years of professional software development experience.
  • Experience designing, developing, testing, and supporting software applications in a professional environment.

  • Exposure to AI, machine learning, large language models, or intelligent automation technologies.
