Job description

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Responds to inquiries from students, parents, and campus staff regarding admission status, financial aid programs, requirements, eligibility, application procedures, form completion, award status, and deadlines
  • Educates students and families regarding student account statements and bill estimates
  • Counsels and advises students and families regarding financial aid eligibility, application procedures, aid programs, costs, indebtedness, money management and financial planning. Facilitates appeal processes as needed
  • Supports recruitment and financial aid events through event coordination tasks
  • Performs data entry and record-keeping activities to track and maintain student records. Ensures data accuracy and compliance
  • Provides general office administration support such as ordering supplies, greeting visitors, filing invoices and purchase orders, greeting visitors, and answering phone calls and emails
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Knowledge of financial aid programs, including scholarships, emergency loans, and eligibility requirements

Under the direction of the Senior Assistant Director, the Student Financial Aid Advisor serves as the primary point of contact for prospective and current students, families, alumni, faculty, staff, and external agencies regarding all aspects of federal, state, institutional, and private financial aid programs. Advisors provide comprehensive financial counseling in-person, by telephone, email, and live chat, while ensuring exceptional customer service in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
