Production Chemist I
Location: California
Schedule: Monday – Friday, Day Shift
Position Summary:
We are seeking a motivated Production Chemist I to join our Toxicology Manufacturing team. This entry-level opportunity is ideal for recent graduates or professionals with up to two years of laboratory experience who are looking to build their careers in a regulated manufacturing environment.

Under the guidance of senior staff, the Production Chemist I will support manufacturing operations by preparing reagents and solutions, operating laboratory equipment, performing in-process testing, and maintaining compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and quality system requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Follow laboratory safety guidelines and company policies at all times.
  • Read, understand, and comply with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Manufacture products according to Batch Records and GMP requirements.
  • Prepare and formulate:
    • Antibody solutions
    • Drug-positive solutions
    • Enzyme-conjugate solutions
    • EIA calibrators and controls
    • Reagents and related materials
  • Perform analytical and in-process EIA testing.
  • Conduct daily temperature monitoring and maintain accurate records.
  • Perform routine maintenance, calibration, and upkeep of laboratory equipment.
  • Complete production activities to support manufacturing goals and timelines.
  • Maintain accurate laboratory notebooks, records, and electronic data entries.
  • Ensure materials are properly labeled, approved, and available for production activities.
  • Participate in continuous improvement and Lean Manufacturing initiatives.
  • Assist with investigations, document updates, deviations, and process improvements.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant laboratory environment.
  • Support additional manufacturing and laboratory activities as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree (BS or BA) in Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, or a related Life Sciences field.
  • 0–2 years of laboratory experience.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
  • Willingness to work overtime and weekends when required.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working in a GMP, pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device, or regulated laboratory environment.
  • Knowledge of laboratory equipment operation and maintenance.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with analytical testing and laboratory data analysis.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and manufacturing systems.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
