Gyp Stacks and Idle Plants Technician

The ideal candidate will manage the pondwater system and the surrounding gyp stacks to ensure compliance with regulatory and corporate requirements. Monitor facility and surrounding areas to ensure Environmental, Health, Safety, and Security standards are met and resolve any issues that arise. Obtain resources, equipment, or labor, and oversee the work to ensure issue is being managed appropriately.

What you'll do?

  • Operate, inspect, and oversee work related to the freshwater ponds, gyp stacks, and gyp stack ponds and associated equipment.

  • Operate and troubleshoot Heat Input system and Lime Water Treatment Plant.

  • Obtain resources and oversee field work to ensure on-going environmental compliance.

  • Conducts facility environmental testing and sampling of surface and ground water.

  • Identifies and communicates deficiencies noted in the field to appropriate personnel. Provide minor mechanical maintenance activities.

  • Operate associated equipment with these activities, i.e., manlift, forklift, etc.

  • Coordinates onsite contractors, RO plant and Gyp Stack Maintenance.

  • Review equipment, sample results and pond data using an electronic database (Excel or PI system) for daily operational decisions / troubleshooting.

  • Performs miscellaneous job duties as assigned.
