Job Description

Job Posting Title:
Tradeshow & Exhibit Associate Production Manager

Company Intro:
Modern Expo, Events & Exhibits is Salt Lake Cityโ€™s leading independent exposition service contractor, event producer, and decorator. For over 400 events annually across the U.S., weโ€™ve delivered exceptional trade shows, expos, and corporate events with our unwavering commitment to quality, value, service, family, and community. As an industry leader, we bring unmatched expertise in delivering large-scale exposition and exhibit solutions โ€” and weโ€™re growing our team.

Position Summary:
Weโ€™re seeking a Tradeshow & Exhibit Associate Production Manager with proven hands-on experience in trade show and exposition production. This is not a generic event role โ€” we need someone who understands the unique demands, pace, and precision of the expo world. You will play a key role in planning, supervising, and executing the installation and dismantle (I&D) of large-scale expos, trade shows, and exhibits from start to finish.

The ideal candidate is a problem-solver with strong leadership skills, an eye for detail, and the ability to thrive in fast-paced, ever-changing environments. This is an entry-level supervisory role with strong opportunities for growth, designed for someone with existing industry knowledge who wants to expand into full project leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead on-site supervision of trade show and expo installation and dismantle operations, ensuring timelines, safety protocols, and quality standards are met.
  • Direct and coordinate labor crews during I&D, optimizing efficiency and safety.
  • Collaborate closely with Account Managers to ensure client expectations are met or exceeded.
  • Partner with the Warehouse Manager to confirm proper equipment allocation for each event.
  • Liaise with venue personnel to ensure compliance with facility rules and safety requirements.
  • Oversee show floor standards, maintaining a professional, client-ready environment at all times.
  • Monitor and report project progress, proactively identifying and resolving challenges.
  • Evaluate project outcomes and implement process improvements for future shows.
  • Manage multiple concurrent expo projects while maintaining a positive, solution-oriented approach.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 1โ€“2 years direct experience in trade show, exposition, or exhibit production (including I&D supervision, freight logistics, or show floor operations).
  • High school diploma or equivalent (associate or bachelorโ€™s degree in Event Management or related field preferred).
  • Working knowledge of expo/trade show production processes, tools, and industry-standard equipment.
  • Experience with strategic planning, scheduling, and resource coordination in Expo / Trade Show settings.
  • Ability to lead and motivate crews while maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Detail-oriented, deadline-driven, and highly adaptable.
  • Ability to travel frequently for shows and work non-traditional hours as required by event schedules.

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of industry-standard production management software.
  • Experience with permanent installations or large-scale corporate exhibits.

Why Join Us:

  • Be part of a dynamic, fast-paced team producing some of the largest expos and trade shows in the region.
  • Grow your career in a company that values creativity, innovation, and teamwork.
  • Travel opportunities across the country to work on high-profile events.
