Data Engineer
Location: Reston, VA - must be able to go into the Reston based office a minimum of 1 time per week

You'll support a team delivering data solutions across a diverse portfolio of utility and energy clients. What you will be doing:
Our business analysts, senior developers, and architects will share requirements and solution designs, and you'll collaborate with the team to help build and support data integration solutions. Your daily tasks will be highly varied and could include developing solutions, monitoring their executions for anomalies, and troubleshooting problems that might arise from bad data.
Initial ramp up will require travel to our Reston HQ approximately 2 - 3 days a week. After that, candidates will be required to go into the office approximately 1 time per week. Rarely, there could be a need for travel for a conference or to another ICF location for collaboration. You may be required to participate in periodic drug testing and background checks.
What we need you to have (minimum qualifications):
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or similar field
  • 2+ years experience working with SQL (e.g., query tuning, writing procedures/functions, building views)
  • 1+ year(s) experience developing/optimizing SSIS packages with design to maximize flexibility and standardization

What we would like you to have:
  • Experience with working with SSIS parameterized packages in a project solution using standard SDLC.
  • Critical thinking skills / questioning why the requirements are what they are
  • Experience consuming APIs as data sources/destinations
  • Exposure to the utility, energy, and/or energy efficiency sectors
