Job description

Tharros is seeking a Data Engineer to support a Department of Defense customer in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and infrastructure supporting complex mission and business requirements. This role will build and optimize ETL processes, integrate large and diverse data sets, and leverage SQL and AWS big data technologies to improve the availability, reliability, and scalability of enterprise data.


The ideal candidate brings experience in data engineering, data pipeline architecture, ETL, SQL, AWS, automation, and large-scale data processing, with the ability to identify and implement improvements across data workflows and infrastructure. This individual will also develop data and analytics capabilities that transform complex information into actionable insights supporting operational efficiency, performance measurement, and data-driven decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture,
  • Assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional / non-functional business requirements
  • Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc
  • Build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources using SQL and AWS 'big data' technologies
  • Build analytics tools that utilize the data pipeline to provide actionable insights into customer acquisition, operational efficiency and other key business performance metrics
