Terminal Operator I

Build your career with a team that values safety, growth, and doing great work together.

At Ergon Asphalt Partners, we don't just produce high-quality asphalt binder-we build strong teams and long-term careers. As a family-owned, relationship-driven company with locations across the U.S. and Mexico, we combine stability and opportunity with a genuine small-company feel where every employee matters.

We're looking for a Terminal Operator I to join our Hopewell VA team. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on-work, solving everyday challenges, and being part of a tight-knit, supportive crew.

What You'll Do

In this role, you'll be a key part of our terminal operations, helping ensure products are handled safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards. Your day-to-day may include:

  • Working safely at all times and following established procedures.
  • Receiving and connecting railcars, steam lines, and unloading hoses.
  • Monitoring and recording tank temperatures and measurements.
  • Operating systems such as Order Weigh.
  • Performing routine yard and equipment maintenance.
  • Pulling product samples as needed.
  • Keeping the work area clean, organized, and safe.
  • Collaborating with team members, customers, and vendors.

This role reports to the Terminal Manager and offers the chance to learn multiple aspects of terminal operations.

What We're Looking For:

  • Strong work ethic and commitment to safety.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Good organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Basic computer knowledge.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Ability to obtain a TWIC card (if required).
  • Comfortable, working outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Physically able to lift up to 75 lbs. and perform active hands-on work.

Why Join Ergon?

  • Competitive pay and comprehensive benefits package, including:
    • 401(k) with company participation
    • Health, dental, vision, and life insurance
    • Paid holidays, vacation, and sick leave
    • Tuition assistance
    • Profit sharing
  • A company culture that values learning, teamwork, and long-term growth.
  • The opportunity to build a career in a stable, essential industry.

If you're looking for a hands-on role where you can learn, contribute, and grow with a company that values its employees, we'd like to hear from you.
