PROtect, LLC is hiring Environmental Monitoring & Mitigation (EMM) Apprentices in Norco, LA to begin a hands-on career in the oil and gas / environmental compliance industry. This is an entry-level, paid apprenticeship with on-the-job training focused on Leak Detection and Repair (LDAR), emissions monitoring, and EPA compliance.
You'll work onsite at industrial facilities alongside experienced technicians, using portable analyzers to identify and reduce VOC and HAP emissions in accordance with EPA Method 21.

Position Overview
The EMM Apprentice reports to an LDAR Manager and works closely with site leadership to ensure environmental compliance and customer satisfaction. You'll be responsible for monitoring equipment routes, calibrating analyzers, identifying leaks, and documenting emissions data.
This role is ideal for candidates interested in:

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor industrial components for emissions using portable analyzers
  • Perform LDAR monitoring per EPA Method 21
  • Calibrate monitoring equipment to ensure accurate readings
  • Identify leaks and apply process leak tags
  • Upload daily monitoring data and complete emissions reports
  • Communicate findings with site and plant personnel
  • Follow all safety policies and report incidents or near-misses
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications
Required:
  • At least 18 years old
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Word & Excel)

Preferred (Not Required):
  • Experience in oil & gas, chemical plants, or refineries
  • Familiarity with handheld/PDA data collection devices
  • Mechanical aptitude or hands-on work experience

Skills & Abilities
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Safety-first mindset
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Comfortable with physical work (lifting up to 50 lbs, climbing, stairs)
  • Willingness to wear respiratory protection and PPE
  • Dependable, punctual, and able to work extended hours when needed
