Job description

Blue Sky Unlimited is looking for a entry level Logistics Specialist / Freight Dispatcher to become part of an excellent team. This is the perfect opportunity for an individual that has strong analytical and computer skills, strong attention to detail, enjoys working in a team environment and is self-motivated. This position works with customers and team members daily concerning the coordination of freight movements.

Daily Responsibilities (training provided):

  • Sell and Tender freight to third party carriers
  • Update TMS with current shipment information
  • Troubleshoot operational and exception issues
  • Tracking visibility during the life cycle of the load
  • Handle rate negotiations with carriers on a spot rate basis
  • Coordinate with carriers to ensure appts are made for pick up and delivery, estimate times of arrival and departure, and recovering loads when necessary

Skillset Needed:

  • Ability to prioritize time sensitive situations in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to maintain professional working relationship with customers and co-workers
  • Organization skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Predictable, regular attendance is essential
  • Computer skills within Excel and Outlook as well as the ability to learn other computer systems across different platforms
  • Training is provided and college degree is not required.
