Overview
TRC is seeking an entry-level Environmental Technician to join our Houston, TX Office. This
position would be working within our Building Sciences and Industrial Hygiene business within
our Environmental Sector.
Responsibilities
  • Perform hazardous building material inspections for asbestos, lead-based paint, PCBs.
  • Perform indoor air quality inspections, water intrusion investigation and mold
    assessments.
  • Perform project oversight and coordination with contractors.
  • Operate and maintain instruments including sampling pumps, calibrators and
    microscopes.
  • Collect samples as required by various regulatory agencies, complete data sheets, chain
    of custody forms, and prepare samples for shipment to laboratory.
  • Maintain daily logs of activities related to project work.
  • Interact and communicate with clients, contractors and regulatory agency
    representatives.
  • Read project specifications and drawings.
  • Prepare reports.
  • Travel throughout Texas is expected.

Qualifications
  • 1 - 3 years of experience in the hazardous building materials, indoor air quality,
    industrial hygiene industry is preferred.
  • High School Diploma required.
  • Must be able to read project specifications and drawings.
  • Prior experience in various aspects of abatement projects is a plus.
  • One or more of following licensed are a preferred: TDSHS Asbestos Inspector, TDSHS
    Asbestos Project Manager, TDSHS Asbestos Air Monitoring Technician.
  • Strong verbal communication skills.
  • Adaptability and flexibility to various work schedules and situations related to
    emergency response scenarios.
  • ntuitive and creative thinker. Understanding of their surroundings and reason the
    services are being provided. A consultative demeanor and ability to work with
    customers / clients and offers solutions when needed.
  • Work as a team player.
  • Ability to carry and climb ladders and being able to use hand and power tools.
  • Be able to wear a respirator, safety harness and other safety equipment as needed.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and a reliable means of transportation.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen, background check and drug screen.

Compensation: In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.
Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company's annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.
